New Vision School Students Awareness

The students of New Vision School took their own initiative during the month of October, to raise awareness about breast cancer during International Breast Cancer Awareness Month. With the permission of School Principal Mahfouz and Vice-Principal Ms Dalia, and under the leadership of Sarah Ghassan Albuflasa, a Senior Student at the School, and her classmates, they set about contacting Think Pink: Bahrain Breast Cancer Society. Their aim was plan an event that would spread awareness to both staff and students of the school. With the support of the Charity and that of Ms Soheir, they set about organising the programme.

“Having students take ownership of such awareness programmes is very important. Miss Albuflasa took the decision to contact the charity and we talked about what was important to address and ideas of how they could go about this. Her maturity and professional attitude towards the event was second to none, and the success was down to the student’s motivation. Presenting in the main hall is not an easy task and I am very impressed” said Founder Julie Sprakel

Each participating student left with an information leaflet to further their knowledge about breast cancer awareness- and a pink ribbon as a keepsake. Miss Albuflasa noted that “everyone was thrilled to be part of this event and the students enjoyed spreading the awareness in an aim to raise both hope and support”.

Once again- using the mission and vision of Think Pink: Bahrain Breast Cancer Society, breast awareness and its importance of knowing what is normal for you is educated to a new generation of future leaders in Bahrain
