British Embassy Bahrain – Makes A Donation

Her Majesty’s Ambassador Simon Martin CMG, Mrs Sophie Martin and Embassy staff, today welcomed representatives from Think Pink Bahrain and Feed the Need Bahrain as over BHD 1200 was donated to the charities.
The money was raised by the generous donations from members of the British community who attended the British Embassy Carols event on Tuesday 12th December 2017.

The event also had a main sponsor of the Bahrain British Business Forum (BBBF), other sponsors were Gulf Daily News, Gulf Brands, Radisson Diplomat Blu, Alosra, Mega Mart, G4S, AVL Concepts Event Management.
Michelle Bailey, founder of Feed the Need, explained how money will be spent.

‘Feed the Need has over 20 refrigerators around Bahrain where people can donate food and those that need food can help themselves. Today’s donation will buy 900 hot meals which will be greatly appreciated on these cold winter nights’
Julie Sprakle and Tara Al Alawi were representing Think Pink Bahrain.

‘This money will go towards costs of 10 nurses who are about to undergo further specialist training in Breast Cancer Care, increasing the amount of support available in The Kingdom of Bahrain and enabling their professional development.’

HM Ambassador Simon Martin said ‘ I was delighted that our carols event raised such a fantastic sum We are very proud to be able to open our doors to the British Community and I am thrilled that the donations of our generous guests raised so much. It was wonderful to meet Michelle, Julie and Tara today and understand better what a difference it will make to the charities involved.
