Susan Cook of Castaway Bahrain raised nearly BD2,000 in Pink Ribbon Can Sales, Bahrain School And St. Christopher's also raised hundreds of dinars selling the pink cans filled with chocolate covered dates as did several volunteers and retail outlets around the island. World Beat founder and director, Jane Goodwin said "this was truly a community effort we couldn't have done it without our volunteers, clients, sponsors and community. Our goal was to raise funds for a good cause and more importantly to raise awareness for early detection and education regarding all matters related to breast health and awareness. Goodwin added that the funds raised were being divided between the Mohammed Fakroo & Brothers MRI fund and the Think Pink education fund for training local health care workers in early detection, education and treatment.
